Obama's "inner nerd"

So, I'm reading this series on the Presidential campaign on the Newsweek site (you can pick yourselves up off the floor now--I do occasionally interest myself in politics beyond deciding who to vote for, especially if it's post-analysis, not current debates), after it was mentioned over on SFF.Net. And ran across this, a description of some minor horseplay between Michelle and Barack Obama: He jabbed a playful finger toward her belt buckle, and let loose his inner nerd. "The lithium crystals! Beam me up, Scotty!"

Don't know whose error it is, but I assume the reporter's. How about making that dilithium crystals, there, Newsweek? At least if you want to make the point about Obama being a 'nerd' for making a Star Trek joke...

Article is part three of a seven-part series called Secrets of the 2008 Campaign.
