It's snowing, it's snowing

This is not very exciting news for those in colder climes, but this is Atlanta. And it's March, by golly. Whoops, crack of thunder out there, too....thundersnow.

Got's later. The snow has stopped, and either the wind has died down or the clumps of snow that were thumping onto my roof have all been dislodged from the pine trees...or maybe it's gotten cold enough to freeze 'em. I don't know what the official accumulation will be for my part of town--an inch or so, perhaps, for pretty continuous snow from 11 AM to around 5 PM, but landing on surfaces that were well above freezing. Nice coating of the white stuff on the grass and trees, and hopefully not on the roads. If the wind gets a good headstart on the colder temps (22 is the predicted low), it should dry the pavement considerably.

I hibernated for the evening, making a big pot of lentil soup and serving it with slices of the whole-grain ciabatta I baked yesterday. That made up for the semi-white-knuckled driving I did getting home from my office after the snow really started coming down. I have no winter driving skills, so slushy roads up my stress level. All better now!
