  • Mon, 14:14: Got back to room and fired up work computer to upload files and a web page. It was midnight before VPN and other issues were conquered
  • Mon, 14:15: Today is the actual wedding anniversary for Doris and Charlie, 52 years. Started with pin trading as the POR store opened.
  • Mon, 14:17: I drove us all to Animal Kingdom Lodge for our Boma breakfast. Pin trading friend Debbie & husband Charlie met us there.
  • Mon, 14:18: Were joined also by Debbie's sister and husband who were visiting--Debbie is local. Very nice leisurely breakfast.
  • Mon, 14:20: Boma server brought champagne and a mini cupcake for the anniversary couple.
  • Mon, 14:21: We of course had pins to share with Debbie, so sat in the lobby for a while to trade and to chat.
  • Mon, 14:23: Drove back to POR, regrouped, got the scooter for Charlie, now off to Magic Kingdom for some late afternoon fastpasses.
  • Mon, 14:59: Caught the mini parade for the Super Bowl MVP. Not my team, alas@
  • Mon, 15:52: Walked all the way through the Emporium, I headed over to watch the Festival of Fantasy parade over the heads of the early arrivers.
  • Mon, 15:54: Festival of Fantasy has lots of tall floats, though I miss being able to see the street walkers.
  • Mon, 15:56: Met up with the others in Frontierland pin store, they avoided parade crowds.
  • Mon, 15:57: Arrived as a pair of cast members presenting them w a pin in honor of their anniversary.
  • Mon, 15:58: Headed to Fantasyland for Mine Train ride.
  • Mon, 16:57: Got the back 2 rows on Mine Train, much more lively than the front. Doris says she's now done w Mine Train. :)
  • Mon, 17:02: Charlie got too close to the path edge avoiding folks trying to enter the exit, twisted his foot. He thinks it's ok, will see how it does.
  • Mon, 17:17: We're taking the Express bus to Animal Kingdom and will get a counter service dinner there.
  • Mon, 17:20: Cancelled our remaining MK FastPasses and grabbed Kilimanjaro Safari ones at AK for 6:15-7:15
  • Mon, 17:56: 25 min total trip to Animal Kingdom Harambe area via Express service
  • Mon, 17:57: Lots of interesting backstage views too--couple of huge trees ready for transplanting, etc
  • Mon, 18:17: Pretty long FastPass line for safari, I'm afraid we will miss the lighter twilight and get the "too dark to see animals" trip
  • Tue, 08:28: Catch-up last night: safari was a bit too night not twilight but we did see some stuff. Ended close to 7 which was park close.
  • Tue, 08:32: All the park counter service places were closed, so we watched part of a Tree of Life "Awakening" (projection show) and headed to bus.
  • Tue, 08:37: We ate at the PORiverside food court. I got a roast beef melt sandwich w house chips which was acceptable, aided by a glass of merlot.
  • Tue, 08:39: Finished w dinner close to 9, pretty late after even the large Boma breakfast. Off to rooms, I did a bit more work updating a web page
  • Tue, 08:41: Now off to Animal Kingdom pre breakfast, will pin trade back to the Starbucks or Kusafiri Bakery, a walk up window w pastries.
  • Tue, 09:34: The pin board/rolling trash can was at the front of the park at opening, very nice
