Maine tourist time is arranged!

The travel vendor's Web problem has been circumvented. (They had me make a new reservation and then call to get the old one--that their Web software wouldn't show me--cancelled. Cancellations don't incur an extra charge, but a changed reservation requiring human intervention would have...) I'm now arriving in Portland around 12:30 Sunday, will be met by my friend Krissi, a Maine native now working in our NY office, who'll be visiting her parents.

She's promised some scenic wandering along Route 1 on Sunday, if the traffic isn't too fierce, and perhaps a stop at LL Bean before she drops me at my hotel in Augusta. Monday she'll fetch me again and we'll head to her parents' place in Vienna to hang out around the lake (I don't think my Georgia blood is actually going in the lake...), and maybe other touring of the "just drive around and see the countryside" variety. We'll just play it by ear.
