Forgotten resource

Wednesday I decided I really needed to go ahead and get a flu shot--I tried when I had my physical, but they were out of vaccine then. So I called my doctor's office and got offered an appointment next week. (I'll be in Denver.) Or the week after Thanksgiving. (No thanks.)

I then tried the nearby grocery stores and drug stores that have had signs for flu shots, but they were all done, no more planned. I was about to give up and make the appointment for after Thanksgiving, when I spotted an article in the paper about getting flu shots at....duh....the DeKalb County Health Department. Which is actually 5 or 6 health centers scattered around the county, it seems, and one of them is very close to my office.

Yesterday at lunch I drove to the health center, followed the signs to the flu shot room (no one there but the clerk and the nurse), filled out the forms, paid $20, and got my shot. I was done with plenty of time to stop at the library just up the street and pick up the new Tamora Pierce they were holding for me--that's been confiscated by my elder niece, who promises to give it back when I return from Denver next Friday. (Probably after she, her sister, and her mom have read it.) I'm sure I won't have time to read it before I go, and I've been saving Sword of Orion for the trip.

Where did you get _Sword of Orion_? Is it out in stores yet?

Have a safe trip!
