Construction next door

I'm taking the week off to burn my use-or-lose leave, so I was still in bed when I heard some hammering next door. (Not at my brother's--the other next door.) I peered out and first thought they were having their gutters replaced, as the workers were up at the roofline removing soffits, though the screened porch had been de-screened, too.

But it appears we're talking a major addition here: the brick siding on the second story has been removed, the screened porch is gone, and framing has been started for an extension to the second floor. No wall framing yet--maybe it's a deck, maybe a full room addition on the second floor with a porch beneath. As they left the ground-floor brick siding and I haven't seen any signs of a foundation, I don't think it's a full-blown addition to the house. I'll watch it develop--I've got a grandstand view across my shallow back yard to theirs, and their house sits very close to the fence.
